NINTENDO DOWNLOAD FOR MARCH 23RD

Free Online Space Game

This week brings five tempting releases on the Switch eShop, a couple of options on Wii U, a HAL Laboratory release and others on the 3DS, and a release on Mobile. On top of that there's a 'Nindies Celebration Sale' on Wii U and 3DS that has some rather tempting deals, along with some other standard discounts. Let's get to it.

Nintendo Switch eShop

Has-Been Heroes (Frozenbyte, €24.99 / £19.99) - A bit of a departure from the Trine days, this is a
side-on roguelike strategy title with the premise that heroes past their prime have one final quest to fulfil. We'll die a lot and let you know what we think in a review. Available from 28th March.
World of Goo (Tomorrow Corporation, €9.99 / £8.99) - A title (at that point released by 2D Boy) that helped define the WiiWare service, this is a clever physics puzzler in which you tackle various stages by building and rearranging goo-based structures to avoid danger. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.
Little Inferno (Tomorrow Corporation, €9.99 / £8.99) - A peculiar premise that originally arrived as a launch day title on the Wii U eShop. You selectively burn a combination of items to solve puzzles, all to reach a typically quirky ending. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.

Human Resource Machine (Tomorrow Corporation, €9.99 / £8.99) - The studio's most recent release blends that trademark satire and humour with a unique approach to puzzles; the central premise draws inspiration from programming / coding, so requires logic and careful thought from players across its 38 puzzles. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.

Neo Turf Masters (HAMSTER, €6.99 / £6.29) - Our own Damien McFerran reckons this is "one of the best golf games ever made", so there. Its large, screen-filling sprites, great music and instantly addictive gameplay made it a hit in arcades, and now you can see what all the fuss is about on your Switch. It has local multiplayer, and this 'ACA' edition will have online leaderboards and the usual Neo Geo goodies.

Wii U eShop

Six Sides of the World (Cybernetik Design, €4.99 / £4.50) - Released on PC in early 2016, this is an interesting puzzle game in which you navigate around three-dimensional cubes, dodging dangers to get to an end goal. It's big on logic and spatial awareness, so we'll put ourselves to the test and let you know what we think.

Sudoku Party (Lightwood Games, €4.99 / £4.50 or free if you own the 3DS version) - There ain't no party like a Sudoku Party, according to some well-known socialites. Ok, so we made that up, but this offering does include 1000 puzzles and a multiplayer mode in which you can take on an opponent (locally or online) to show off your Sudoku prowess. For fans of these puzzles this is surely rather tempting.
